equestrian-athlete: The Pony Patch This is just adorable! And about the size I was when I started riding. Oh, to be young again!Today I am officially not an equestrian any more. I sold my dear horse, Spirit. My spinal issues have been making it painful or uncomfortable to ride. She’s such an athletic mare who “asks” to go for rides and is always a much more contented girl when we do. So it was only fair to find her a new home. I cried twice today. I am going to miss my friend immensely.

My horse Spirit. I got her as a fearful 4 year old who didn’t trust people. She’s 12 now and is a great friend. I haven’t been riding much.. at all… for about a year since my spine has been hating me and she is just sitting in her pen, waiting. I feel horrible about it. I need to find her a new home. I feel so much guilt.
