When I was in 8th grade, in California, I was on the school’s rifle team. We competed in different distances and different positions with .22 rifles. I did prone (on your belly) position at 50 yards because I was a girl. I learned gun handling safety, how to clean and put together a gun, and respect for the weapon. Could you even imagine schools allowing that today?
